Be a Better Blogger

No, I don't always have things all sorted out, and I am pretty much a mess when it comes to blogging all the time: which is why you will notice many time gaps between posts… oops. But still, I have learned a few things over the months of blogging, and would love to share some helpful tips with you all.

Number one - use your free time to prepare future blog posts. If you have any spare time in the day and you finish your weekly blog post, remember it can't hurt to write post two to three weeks in advance, and if you have a ton of extra time, you can even start to upload them as a draft to you sight! This makes those busy week, with little time to blog much easier!

Number two - find a site and style that works for you. Finding a site that will help you share your vision with the world is very important. Make sure the sight is easy to use and has different templates that go with your ideas. I have personally tried out many different styles, and found that colorful is the way that makes me the most satisfied.

Number three - never ever leave out the pictures or the gimmicks from you site and posts. A ton of words or text is not going to be as entertaining as color and photos! Make some words bolder than others, add pictures or little gifs, just add a ton of color! This is so important because it makes your post and site interesting and pleasing for the eye

Number four - be organized with your writing and materials! One key thing to remember is that you always want to have saved copies of your work somewhere other than just your blog! I start by using google docs to write my pieces, then I transfer them to my site! I'm able to have all my work in one space which makes finding articles or ideas for articles I have really easy: you can also jot down articles or ideas in your notes, just make sure to title them!

Number five - use social media and ambassadors to promote your blog! Some people don't think of it, but a blog is a type of business. A blog owner is a small business owner, and businesses need to be promoted! Using social media platforms such as Instagram helps get the word out that you have an incredible blog, same with Snapchat takeovers! Finally, get yourself some ambassadors who will mention you in their posts, and help you out when needed. No shame in reaching out to people!

Those are five tips from one blog owner to another! Although blogging is hard work, writing has always been my passion, same with horses, so I highly encourage you guys try it out!
