The Impact of Instagram

With all that has happened this week in the instagram community, I want to be brief and discuss something. There are many, many, many

people out there who don’t understand the importance and impact social media, specifically instagram can have on someone's life - mostly, parents or grandparents, but some kids too. And yes, i understand this article may make me look like an instagram obsessed teenager who thinks that their phone is the only thing of significance, but I choose to believe I do not fit those characteristics. First I want to talk about the difference instagram has made on my life personally, and many other peoples, then i want to give you all some quick advice about judgment from people who just do not understand.
For me, I have been on instagram for a very long time, much longer than my other friends, and possessing many more accounts than them. As of now, Instagram is a place for me to share my love of writing and my passion of horseback riding for other people to appreciate. It is a way for me to escape my real world of school and endless expectations and put myself in other people's shoes; i do this by watching video edits, looking at new products, and reading articles, imagining what it must be like to experience such things. Being a blog owner, is a tough task within itself, so instagram is also the way i market my brand and raise awareness to something i work very hard at. For my personal account, it is how i connect with lost friends and let people know I have a life (Well if riding 24/7 counts).
For some, Instagram is associated with something negative - the hate that people will sprung upon users, just because they are self conscious. It is where someone can be so vulnerable as to put everything out there, and still be attacked instead of awarded for being courageous.
Despite what Instagram means to you, this week a lot of accounts, including some people who I know and have worked with, got hacked and possibly deleted forever. And I know, we can all imagine the annoyance these people are facing. So in this time, I hope that you all can realize that the people whose accounts were hacked, even if instagram seems so little to you, are very upset and have trem
endous amounts of courage to start over and be vulnerable again.

Now here’s some advice; starting over is always going to be a challenge. Accepting defeat in anything will always suck. When my account which i had worked hard to grow and cultivate was deleted at 500 followers, i remember my feeling of panic and then a lot of disappointment. That was 500 followers, and an account i had for 5 months, the accounts deleted were at 50,000 and had been used for many years, so i can only barely imagine how upset the owners of the accounts are. But, at this point, the only thing to do is to move on with grace! Finally, it does not matter if your parents or friends fail to see the change social media can make in people's lives, if they think your a phone obsessed loser, I know if you're reading this, instagram gives you joy, and the most important thing at the end of the day is being happy.
This post is dedicated to @Harlonfarmss , @_stride_to_jump_ , and @erindalefarms whose accounts were all hacked and as of now lost. There new accounts are mentioned in the sentence above.
